Today I received a letter from GALCO Gunleather with positive news.  They state that they use only skins from

“legally harvested non-protected shark species.”

The last statement in the letter is

“We will, however, review your concerns and our practice of using sharkskin.”

This is positive in my opinion. At least I got an answer and they might even review if it’s necessary to produce items made out of sharkskin. And the customers can help to make it easy on manufacturers – simply by not buying it. The less people are interested in products made out of shark, the less Industries will produce such stuff.

It’s in your hand ;-)

As you might know, GALCO Gunleather sells holsters and belts made out of shark skin. Please do not buy any(!)  products made out of sharkskin. Sharks are endangered and some species are almost extinct.

Thank you :-)

Now, I’m glad and proud to introduce to you my future project – MAKO1

This is pretty close to what I had in mind. Thanks to Keith Kaucher (Kaucher Kustoms) for transferring my idea to paper.

The striking changes are:

Louvres in Hood
Gills in front fender
Paint job

Because it is supposed to be a homebuilt project I will not be able to build it exactly how I wanted. But it still will bring a lot of fun.

I hope I can hit the roads with it in 2014.

Let me know what you think.

The process of building MAKOne (pron. Mako One) is still in the beginning phase.

Kaucher Kustoms  has the “GO” for creating a rendering which will take a couple weeks to be done.

The car is of course inpired by the Mako shark.

Stay tuned…

Amazon sells different shark products.

Here’s a petition you can sign.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/a-plea-to-amazon-to-remove-the-sale-of-shark-products-from-their-website/

Please do not buy anymore from Amazon until they removed all shark products.

Thank you.
